The task of Shepherding a Diocese is indeed a great one. And to even Shepherd a Diocese as old as 50 years is a more tasking assignment. The above were some of the sentiments of Bishop Francis Obafemi ADESINA since he took up the mantle of service in Ijebu-Ode Diocese since January 17,2019 (his announcement) and April 25, 2020 (his installation and enthronement).

Since his arrival in the Diocese he had tried to build on the legacies laid by Late Bishop SANUSI and Bishop FASINA, the founding Bishops of the Diocese. He had consciously maintain the status quo ante and tried graciously not to upset the polity.

In line with all the above and to continue to carry out his assignments diligently and promptly, on friday, 24th July, 2020, he instituted the College of Consultors. Canon 502, paragraphs 1 and 2 accord the Bishop the right to freely appoint not less that 6 and not more than 12 Priests, for a period of 5 years, to the College of Consultors.

The list of the new College of Consultors was contained in the August 2020/013 circular of the Bishop. Of the 8 Priests appointed only 3 of them were new. 5 of them had been Consultors to at least one of the previous Bishops. They shall assist the Bishop in his task as he deems fit and necessary. We pray for more wisdom for the Bishop and his College of Consultors.
