Holy Family Parish, Sagamu celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family!

The Holy Family Catholic Parish, Sagamu as customary on Sunday 29th Dec, 2019 celebrated the Feast of the Holy Family at the Holy Family Church premises, G.R.A, Sabo, Sagamu. In attendance were parishioners from the Outstations of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sotubo and Most Pure Heart of Mary, Otuyelu, friends and well wishers among others. The occasion commenced with Holy Mass celebrated by the Parish Priest, Most Revd. Msgr V.O Ajayi. In his homily, he enjoined families to imbibe the virtues of a good christian family like that of Jesus, Mary and Joseph where there is love, compassion, kindness, meekness, patience, forbearing one another always despite the level of challenges, adding that a family built on love, trust and respect for one another is what each family should aspire to attain. He admonished children to honour their parents at all times and parents to pray and bless their children always.

In the reception that followed the Holy Mass, Rt. Revd. V.O Ajayi, while welcoming members thanked God for the gift of life and the grace given us to share together as one big family. He appreciated all present and stressed the need for all to emulate the family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in their daily affairs particularly with respect to one another. Similarly, the Baba Ijo of Holy Family Parish, Chief P.A Arikawe thanked all present and prayed that year 2020 would be far better for us all through the intercession and mercy of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The Parish Council chairman, Baba Omoluabi, M.O Familade also thanked GOD and all present and called for orderliness in the sharing of assorted foods, snacks and drinks e.t.c to ensure that everyone got a share and be happy.

The cake for the feast day was cut by the Parish Priest, Rt Revd Ajayi, flanked by other dignitaries and parishioners.
The occasion witnessed turn-by-turn musical orchestra and dancing entertainments by members of CMON, CWON, CYON and HCA to the delightment of the audience. So many dancing styles, steps and gyrations never seen in the Diocese of Ijebu-Ode before were on display by men, women, youth and children.
The occasion was a joyous one by all standards as all those present looked forward to an encore in the coming year.
Also present at the occasion were the Iya Ijo of the Parish. Chief(Mrs) R.M Familade, the Iyalode of the Parish, Chief(Mrs) Odionyefe, National CMON legal Adviser, W/bro. J . Adegunde, Parish Laity Council chairman, W/bro. E. Nwahiri, Chief G. Falaiye, F. Adedayo, Dr Efuwape, D. Okpiden, Engr J. Gbagyo, Seun Familade, Anayo Alisiobi, the Religious among others too numerous to mention.
