“DEFEND YOUR FAITH BY VOTING THE RIGHT PEOPLE WITH YOUR PVC…” BISHOP ADESINA’S EASTER MESSAGE ON LION FM

By Fr. Anthony Adetayo

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode, Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina was on ‘Aguda on Radio’, a presentation program created by the Diocese which features on Lion 93.9 FM every Sunday at 3:00pm (Divine Mercy hour). On a special Easter edition, the Bishop was the guest speaker on 17th April 2022 which attracted listeners from all the towns surrounding Ijebu land. The program was also live-streamed on the Diocesan Facebook page; The Partner Newspaper.

The Bishop began by expressing the importance of the Easter celebration since without resurrection, our faith will be useless. “This celebration gives us the hope that life does not end on this world and we shall resurrect too one day.” The Bishop reiterated that life without the hope of resurrection is useless.

When the Bishop was questioned further, he admonishes Christians saying “As you prepare for this new election dispensation of 2023, you must be ready to vote the best persons to serve our country. The way the country is going is not good. We are all suffering, many leaders have not done well and it is time to remove every burden that is embalming people in the grave by leveraging on the hope the Easter season has to offer. Easter is about letting the old pass and the new come. You must therefore defend your faith by getting your PVC, and then vote the right persons into position of authority. Do not collect money from politicians. Anybody who collects money from politicians is toiling with our future. We must be firm and turn a new leave as the Easter season offers newness.”

The Chairman and CEO of the Station, Otunba Ogidan Samuel Abiodun was on ground to welcome the Bishop and appreciates the Bishop for coming around to share his views and promises more collaboration with the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode on airing the program.
