13 YOUNG LADIES GET TRANSFORMED FROM ASPIRANTS TO POSTULANTS
by REV. FR. LEO OLUWASEYI AWOJINRIN
Very often, there is the worry that there is little hope for the future of Nigeria as many young people are getting involved in shady and corrupt practises. Yet, as we count our woes, so we must count our blessings.
On Saturday, 13th July, 13 young ladies took one more step ahead in their vocation to the Religious life as they moved from being Aspirants into Postulants. Postulancy is the first stage of formation in the EHJ Sisters Congregation.

At the mass celebrated at 10am on July 13, 2019 at the Postulate of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus in Ikenne, Ijebu-Ode Diocese, Ogun State, the thirteen (13) young ladies prayerfully knelt at the foot of the altar to receive their dresses, veils and medals from the hands of the Superior General, Sr. Mary Agatha Osarenkhoe after they were blessed by Rev. Fr. Leo Awojinrin, the Parish Priest.
During the homily, Rev. Fr. Awojinrin, admonished the Sisters to be full of forgiveness. He said that Joseph lived till 110 years because he forgave his brothers who sold him to slavery because of his dream. However, the homilist admonished them to forgive and always enjoy inner peace as many people will hurt them just as they hurt Jesus the master they aspire to be like.
It was a great and glorious event for the community of EHJ Sister as they were gathered from the Novitiate, the Scholasticate and other communities far and near.
We pray that God who has chosen these young ladies will journey with them till the end and grant them the grace of final perseverance.

The Institute of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus is an Institute of Pontifical right. It was founded on January 18, 1943 by the then Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Leo Hale Taylor, SMA. The Sisters are engaged in various apostolate such as education, medical, social and pastoral work. The Sisters work in Nigeria, South Africa, USA, Canada and Italy.
May God bless the EHJ Sisters!
