“RECLAIMING MARRIAGE AND FAMILY TODAY”: FHL Facilitate holds Seminar

The Family and Human Life Department of the Diocese of the Ijebu- Ode organized a day seminar for all Family and Human Life (FHL) Facilitators in the Diocese, including Priests, Religious and Consultors on Saturday 1st April, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ajaka, Sagamu.
This seminar was facilitated by the Director of the FHL Rev. Fr. David-Mary Odunsi. There were a number of 45 persons were in attendance including Rev. Fr. Jerome Nwokedi FI, Mrs Adams Immaculata: a Representative from Lagos, and the following Consultors: Engr. Ajayi, Mrs Angela Ajayi, Mr. Steven Gbogiaran. Mrs. Gbogiaran, Mrs Mary Magdalene Efuwape.
The seminar was in two sessions. The first session opened up the challenges to marriage and Family in the 20th Century, while the second session provided general principles and criteria to addressing the challenges. The speaker, Rev. Fr. David- Mary Odunsi noted that the forces of darkness are continually seeking new ways to rubbish and deconstruct the sacred institutions pf marriage and family.” Also stating the challenges faced by marriages in the world today, he enumerated some challenges among which were; homosexuality, artificial reproductive technologies (ART), Religious challenges, cultural challenges etc. Thus, he enjoined on married couples to build their marriages on strong foundation and gains of family of life.
After the talk, were sessions of question and discussion with entertainments which brought the seminar to a close.
