LEAD THE CRUSADE OF TRANSFORMING OUR DIOCESE… Bishop Adesina tells St. Mulumba Knights and Ladies at their courtesy visit.
By Fr. Anthony Adetayo
The 17th day of December 2022 was special for the Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba (Ijebu-Ode sub council), as they visited the Bishop of Ijebu-Ode Diocese with gifts and recognized some of their worthy soldiers with awards.
The visit which took place at St. Sebastian Cathedral compound had in attendance the Bishop of the Diocese; Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina, the Grand Knight; Dr. Patrick Akinsanya, the Secretary to the Bishop, Rev. Fr. James Igwe, the Chaplain; Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Matuluko and multitude of worthy Knights and Ladies with their newly inducted children.
The Grand Knight highlighted the activities of the body, successes and challenges of the body. The joy is that the financial indebtedness of the sub council has been relatively defeated, thanks be to God.
The Bishop thanked the Knights and Ladies for all they are doing in the Church. He praises the leadership of the Grand Knight and he appreciates the support for the training of seminarians of the Diocese and support for the Religious Sisters. In his comment, the Bishop says, “the award today is for our Knights, but it goes beyond them. It shows we are working for the Church”.
As long as debt profile is concerned, “people should stop using the Church as a platform to enriching themselves. I charge you Knights and Ladies to lead the crusade of transforming our Diocese”. Remember you are to fight to defend the faith.
The Knights and Ladies deserving of the awards were given by the Bishop and the body gave their token to the Bishop and their Chaplain. It was a beautiful scenario as pictures were taken to immortalize this annual visit.
