LAITY NATIONAL CONFERENCE BEGINS IN IJEBU-ODE
By Rev. Fr. Anthony Adetayo
The Laity are members of Christ’s faithful who are not Clergy and whose mission originates within the Church but is primarily lived out in the world. By virtue of Baptism and Confirmation we are all incorporated into the Body of Christ and share in the priestly, prophetic and kingly mission of Christ. In fulfillment of this mission, the Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria is having her 2022 National Conference being hosted by the Lagos Province with Ijebu-Ode as the chosen Diocese. This year’s Conference is themed “Who is my Neighbour?”
The program will include activities like paper presentations, address by Bishops, spiritual programs and resolutions running from 8th December 2022 to 11th December 2022 at Louise Bautain Retreat Center Ijebu-Itele.
The program begins with arrival and registration of delegates across Nigeria. Having settled down from their different journeys, they paid a courtesy visit to the Bishop of the host Diocese, Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina.
Stay tuned to the program of subsequent days as all will be covered by The Partner Newspaper and the diocesan website of Ijebu-Ode Catholic Diocese.
