IJEBU-ODE DIOCESE ORGANZES WORKSHOP FOR EPISCOPAL PASTORAL REGION

The Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode organizes a 2-day workshop for the Episcopal Vicars, Deans and Sub-deans on their roles in effective collaboration and synergy for the spiritual and pastoral growth of the Diocese between 4th and 5th November 2024 at the Mater Christi Diocesan Chancery, Ijebu-Ode.
The workshop which was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Christopher C.V. Nnubia from Abuja Archdiocese had in attendance the Bishop of the Diocese of Ijebu-Ode; Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina, the Diocesan Chancellor, the three Episcopal Vicars of the three newly created pastoral regions, the eight Deans of all the Deaneries and their respective Sub Deans inclusively.
For proper contextualization, the workshop was divided into 6 sessions including; The Bishop and his power of governance, the Bishop and his regional Episcopal Vicars, the Bishop and his Deans, drafting and studying of the statutes of the pastoral region and Highlighting and defining roles of the Episcopal Vicars in effective collaboration and synergy for the spiritual and pastoral growth of the Diocese. The sixth session is on each Episcopal Region and their peculiarities. This led to further group discussions.
While Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oguntade; the Judicial Vicar gave a report of the Regional Episcopal Vicars, Fr. Stephen Osinkoya reported on behalf of the Deans and Sub deans. At the end of the workshop, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Balogun registered the collective appreciation of the Diocese to the facilitator on behalf the Bishop.
It was indeed an important step towards a full realization of the potential of each pastoral region and the fulfillment of the mandate of the overall pastoral expansion of the Diocese.
