Consequent upon the announcement of transfer of Priests by the Bishop of the Diocese; Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina earlier in the month of December 2022, the Bishop releases a transfer list that has come to be the longest transfer list ever witnessed in the history of the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode. Every Deanery has a minimum of 5 priests or deacons coming into their new pastoral assignments.

For Ijebu-Ode deanery, 8 priests and 2 Deacons are brought into their new assignment including the creation of St. Dennis, Irewon Quasi Parish. The Dean of the Deanery is now Very Rev. Fr. Alphonsus Okocha who will be the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Parish, Kajola.

For Iloti deanery, 6 Priests and 1 Deacon are brought into their new pastoral assignments including the creation of St. Peter, Ososa Quasi Parish.

For Ijebu-Igbo deanery, 9 Priests and 1 deacon are brought into their new assignments.

For Sagamu deanery, 6 Priests and 1 deacon are brought into their new pastoral assignments.

For Esure deanery, 2 Priests and 3 deacons are brought into their new pastoral assignments.

For Ogbere deanery, 4 Priests and 3 deacons are brought into their new pastoral assignments, with the creation of St. Peter Abigi Parish, where Very Rev. Fr. Martin-Rita Ogunbanwo doubles both as the Parish Priest and the Dean of the deanery.

For Iperu deanery, 5 Priests and 2 deacons are brought into their new pastoral assignments. The Dean of the Deanery is now Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel Oresegun who doubles as the Parish Priest of St. John Vianney, Iperu.

Excitingly, the Bishop uses this Special Release to announce the creation of a new deanery called “Ogijo deanery”, carved out of Sagamu deanery. For this deanery, 4 Priests and 1 deacon are brought into their new pastoral assignments, with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Ayanbadejo doubling both as the Dean and the Parish Priest of St. Mary, Ogijo

The transfer takes effect from Monday 6^th February 2023.
