On Friday 15^th April 2022 which was the Good Friday of this year, it was gathered that a seminarian named Ambrose Sule of the Claretian University of Nigeria, Nekede, Owerri died while acting the role of Peter at the Stations of the cross drama.

Good Friday is the day on which Catholics commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Catholics are joined by almost all other Christians in solemn commemoration on this day.
According to the Gospels’ narrative, Jesus was betrayed by Judas, falsely accused by scribes and Pharisees, unjustly condemned by Pilate and scourged. The soldiers tormented Jesus, crowning Him with thorns and ridicule. Jesus carried His cross to Golgotha and He was crucified at Calvary between two thieves. This is the exact narrative that is usually acted all over the world in what many Nigerians call walk-about station of the cross.

The Seminarian is in his first year of Philosophy studies. It was gathered that after acting the role of cutting off the ear of one of the chief priest’s stewards, he slumped and this initially did not look serious. After his inability to rise as expected, he was taken to the school hospital, and the doctors did their best, but he was not responding to treatment. He was taken to the Federal Medical Center in Owerri, where he was pronounced dead and suspected to be caused by Cardiac arrest. However, the authority is yet to give a statement on the cause of his death.
