“Catholic Priests for good governance” is not recognized by the Catholic Church… Very Rev. Fr. Samjumi

As the entire country continues to react to the rumoured proposed protest against the hardship and bad governance in Nigeria, many groups are speaking and writing in various responses. One of the groups called “Catholic Priests for good governance” also earlier circulated a declaration of an open letter to the federal government. Many people have complained that the tone and approach of this letter ordinarily suggested a lack of ‘priestly identity’ and it was not signed as expected. On Saturday 27th July 2024, the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria released a disclaimer about this group which was signed by the Secretary General; Vey Rev. Fr. Zecharia Samjumi.
