Paris plagued with turbulence after mocking the Christian faith
By Fr. Anthony Adetayo
Paris, ‘the City Light’, has descended into darkness due to an event that has left many residents and visitors puzzled. 24 hours after mocking the Christian faith in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic games, the city endured turbulence including travel chaos as trains were brought to a halt amid a ‘massive arson attack’. Heavy showers battering the city also wreaked havoc, forcing several sporting events to be postponed. Several users on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, shared and images of Paris experiencing a sudden blackout. The posts showed that the city was covered in darkness, leading an outpouring of concern. Many people have been frustrated as they navigate the challenges posed by these incidents.
Further complicating matters, heavy rain has also battered the city, leading to further delays and cancellations of various sporting events. The opening ceremony for the Olympics, scheduled for Friday night, has come under severe criticism. With poor weather conditions and ongoing safety concerns, the event’s organizers have faced a considerable amount of backlash from the public and the media since they literally mocked the Last Supper scene of Jesus at the opening ceremony.
There was also no power in buildings except the Catholic Sacre Coeur Church, which is a minor basilica in Paris dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. According to reports in the media, the power outage occurred in several districts of Paris.
This is a sign that everything has consequences and at their time too. We pray for the conversion evil doers who blaspheme in the name of liberal secularism. The Bible teaches in Galatian 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, you cannot mock God. You will always harvest what you plant.
